This month we’ve loved working with Beauty Heroes to launch a Summer DINO Discovery of one of our most popular styles, The Jumpsuit. What fueled this Discovery was our common vision that Wellness is in Fashion.
But what does Wellness in Fashion mean? When we think of Clean Beauty we think of face and body lotions. When we think of Wellness we think of exercise and eating well. But what if we considered the clothes on our back as important to our overall health as potions and plant-based food? What if we thought of our bodies as landfills, and our clothes as consumables, just as we do our food? Did you know that polyester is considered to be the #1 unhealthiest fabric? Did you know that it suffocates your skin, shutting down toxic release? And, did you know that skin germs found in sweat feast on chemicals which synthetic fibers can’t absorb, creating an environment for bacteria to grow? Polyester is plastic, and plastic is permanent.
A couple of weeks ago, Beauty Heroes Founder Jeannie Jarnot and I chatted about the concept of Wellness in Fashion, and the impact our wardrobe choices have on both the Earth and our overall health.
